Low Fat Sloppy Joes
If you miss your Sloppy Joes, this recipe will allow you to have your fix of junk food... but without the fat or guilt! Instead of "junk food" this is actually "funk food"! (Sorry I got a bit cheesy here, but I couldn't help it!).
Fat: 10 g
WW: 5 Points
1/2 kilo (1 lb) lean ground beef
1 can of canola oil spray
1 diced onion
1/2 cup of ketchup
2 Tbsp chili sauce
1 tsp American mustard
1 tsp cider vinegar
1 tsp sugar-wheat hamburger buns
Fresh lettuce leaves
2 sliced Roma tomatoes
This is what you do
Spray a nonstick frying pan with your canola oil spray, and brown the lean ground beef, and get rid of the fat.
Put the buns on the respective plates.
In the frying pan, mix in the rest of the ingredients well with the meat, and simmer for about 30 minutes or so. Don't cover.
Spoon over the buns and top with lettuce leaves and tomato slices.
That's your Sloppy Joes! Delicious, low in fat, and healthy.
