Lite Low Fat Scones (Drop Scones)

Lite low fat scones? I just did not like the sound of "drop scones", then I realized the reason behind the name... Read the "this is what you do" section, and you'll find out the reason.

This is not "just your basic" low fat scone recipe, but a very important one for your survival out there in the weight-loss jungle... so to speak. ;-)

Hey, this amazing creation of culinary art allows you to have 6 of these beauties at any time, and count only 3 WW points (3 g of fat).

But treat with caution beyond that, as they also contain caster sugar, 1 egg, and honey... in very small amounts though (see the ingredients and divided them by 20, and that's how little of these ingredients each scone has... but eating a whole lot of them makes them [and you] bigger... ). :-)

Nutritional Information

Serves 20

Fat: 0.5 g

Cal: 48

KJ: 201.6

WW: 0.5 Point

Ingredients:

Ingredients:

8 oz (225 g) of wholemeal flour

1 tsp cream of tartar

1/2 tsp bicarbonate of soda

1 tsp caster sugar

2 tsp honey

1 egg

1/3 cup skimmed milk

This is what you do:

Beat the egg slightly.

Meanwhile, sift the flour, bicarbonate and cream of tartar into a bowl. Add the sugar and then the honey, stirring.

Add the egg and the milk and beat till you get a smooth batter.

Heat a non-stick frying pan and spray with cannola oil.

Now drop a dessertspoon of batter onto the hot pan, and cook till bubbles come up on the surface of the scones. Then, flip over press with a spatula till cooked on both sides (1 minute each side).

You can do several of these at one time (as many as you can comfortably fit on your frying pan).

Do the same with the rest of the batter (if any).
